[Unlockables]
- Shadow Mode : Swing the wii remote at Story Mode mission selection screen. The screen will change to dark blue color. Shadow Mode is a harder mode, gives you additional and stronger enemies.
- Assignments : There are 50 assignments in this game but you only got 10 at first. Beat a mission in Story Mode (Normal or Shadow) with S rank to unlock 4 additional assignments. A rank for 3. B rank for 2. Unfortunately, you can unlock at most 4 assignments for one mission regardless of Normal or Shadow Mode. Therefore, the easiest way is to get S rank in all (10) missions of Story Mode (Normal). Easy, ugh!?
[Secret Item]*
- Ninja Tabi '08 : Beat story mode. You can run fast and quietly.
- Izayoi : Collect all (12) map pieces in mission 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 in Story Mode (Normal). Rikimaru's unbreakable sword. You can burn enemies when defeating them in sword fight.
- Onibi : Collect all (8) map pieces in mission 6, 7, 8, 9 in Story Mode (Normal). Ayame's unbreakable sword. You can burn enemies when defeating them in sword fight.
- Devil's Mask : Collect all (20) map pieces in Story Shadow Mode. When equipped, your character becomes Onikage. You can press A+B to burn enemies in short distance with fire. You run fast and quietly. Your sword is unbreakable even it's a regular sword. The other equipped items will refill when you go to next section.
- Colored Rice : Complete 50 assignments. When equipped, you are always with Mind's Eye, which means you don't have to press Z to activate Mind's Eye.
- Real Ultimate Power : Beat Story Mode (both Normal and Shadow) and complete 49 assignments. When equipped, you will get infinite supply of three random items. What!? Don't like what you got. well, just restart section till you are satisfied.
* You can't get S or A rank when equipping these secret items.
[Bonus]
- Gallery : Complete 10 assignments. Once you unlock Gallery, enemies will drop scrolls randomly after defeating them. Gatta collect 'em all.
- Music / Sound Library : Complete 20 assignments. Once you unlock it, enemies will drop CDs randomly after defeating them.
- Memories (video) : Complete 20 assignments.
[Special Technique]
- Ancient Hissatsu : Complete 30 assignments. When Hissatsu, swing upward on the wii remote to do Rikimaru's back suplex or Ayame's nut shot. That really hurts :P
[Extended Ending]
- Collect all map pieces in Story Mode (Normal Mode). Beat Story Mode (Normal or Shadow), you will see an extended ending in which Ayame talks a lot, not just laugh.

Tenchu: Shadow Assassins - FAQ
Q : What is Ninja Tabi '08 ?
A : Speed socks. when equipped, you can run really fast. it works automatically, so you don't have to "use" it. you never got S or A rank when equipped.
Q : How do i unlock additional assignments ? there should be 50 but i only got 10.
A : get S rank in Story Mode to unlock additional 4 assignments. A for 3. B for 2.
Q : How do i unlock rest gallery, music and sound ?
A : randomly dropped by killed enemies
Q : How to kill armored samurais like regular enemies ?
A : Sneaking up behind a samurai is impossible. They are very sensitive. However, if you watch kazak0914's vids, you just can't figure out how he can treat samurais like shit.
OK, this technique only work on Tenchu 4 (Japanese version). Just follow the step 1-2-3.
1. With samurai's back towards you, run and jump to his left side. coz samurai always turns his head to the right when hearing a suspicious sound.
2. Press Z immediately when jump landing. This will neutralize noise so you won't get caught. This ain't work on Tenchu Shadow Assassins (USA version).
3. A Hissatsu prompt will appear. Now it's time to kick his butt.

In addition, you can't jump-kill a samurai either. But sometimes it works in rainy days.
Q : How to counter attack / one hit kill in sword battle
A : when you block enemy's attack, immediately press A and swing wii remote to dodge. You can counter attack when you dodge successfully. If your sword gauge is not greater than 2, a prompt will appear ( A, B or Z). Press it to do one hit kill.
Q : Help !! I am on fire!!
A : Use hayate (swing your wii remote) repeatedly to put out the fire.
Q : I heard that there is an extended ending
A : Yes. Collect all the map pieces in story mode (normal) and then beat the game (story mode or shadow mode) to unlock the extended ending.

Tenchu: Shadow Assassins - Locations of Map Pieces
[Normal Mode]
I got map pieces in Mission 4, 8, 9, 10 by myself. (while i didn't know what map piece is for ) after beating the game, i go to Mission 5 again and get map pieces by myself. then I follow Drax89 and Kyonyan's guides to get the rest map pieces in Mission 1, 2, 3, 6, 7.
Mission 1
- Area 1a (3,2) : at the beginning, use Kasugai to climb the wall, which takes you to a hidden area. the map piece is in the building guarded by 4 samurais. yes, 4 !!
- Last Area (1,2) : at the corner near veranda
Mission 2
- Area 1 (3,3) : across the bridge, use ghostmaker to broke the wooden wall on the left. the map piece is in the left shed guarded by a hidden ninja on the wall. use shuriken to kill him. Beware!! the check point opposite the shed is a shortcut, which skips section 2, 3.
- Area 3 (5,5) : the map piece is in the room with stuck door. the only way to get in is from the rafter. Climb the shelf.
Mission 3
- Area 1 (bottom left) : two boxes near jar block a secret place, remove them and enter.
- Area 4 (bottom, 2) : 2nd floor, 3 ppl sitting on the ground guarding the map piece. use smoke bomb u pick up on 1st floor to beat 'em
Mission 5
- Area 1 (2,1) : Near the end of this section. The map piece is guarded by a samurai. Use ghostmaker or shinobi cat.
- Area 2 (2,2) : Near the end of this section. The map is on the other side of broken bridge. jump over to get it.
Mission 6
- Area 2 (4, right) : opposite the check point. two boxes between a door and a torch, there is a hole behind the boxes. Use shinobi cat.
- Area 3 () : there is a hole on the building opposite the check point. Use shinobi cat
Mission 7
- Area 1 (bottom right) : at the beginning, the map piece is in the nearest stone hut. Use shinobi cat.
- Area 5 (bottom, 4) : behind a standing samurai, a small hole in the crawlspace. Use shinobi cat.
[Shadow Mode]
Mission 1
- Area 1a : In Area 1, use Kasugai to climb the wall to go to Area 1a. in the house
- Area 1b : In the house
Mission 2
- Area 3 : in the house
- Area 4 : the map piece is on the left small house. use fishing rod
Mission 3 (shinobi cat, [fishing rod])
- Area 2 : there is a small hole on the right wall after you cross the fence. use shinobi cat to get the map piece in the house.
- Area 6 (last area) : the map piece is in the house where tado located. use shinobi cat. if you don't have shinobi cat, you can use fishing rod to get the map piece from the window. or jump to the box to get to the rafter, use smoke bomb you found on the ground, pick up the map piece before killing enemies.
Mission 4
- Area 2 : In the house where a ninja on the wall
- Area 6 : in the house guarded by 5 samurais
Mission 5
- Area 3 : In the end of this section, two hidden ninja at the corner near watchtower. the map piece is on the ground.
- Area 6 : In the house with locked door. use the sword found in another house to break the lock. the map piece is guarded by a samurai.
Mission 6 (fishing rod)
- Area 3 : starting point, the map piece is on the overbridge guard by a gunman. use fishing rod to get it.
- Area 4 (last area) : starting point, the map piece is in the end of the path, guarded by a samurai and a armored guard. You have to get the map piece before killing 'em ( killing 'em will finish this stage). Use shinobi cat you found in left house or use fishing rod to get it.
Mission 7
- Area 3 : in the center of the yard.
- Area 6 (last area) : in the room with Japanese fireplace. climb the rafter to kill enemies.
Mission 8 (Kasugai, fishing rod)
- Area 1a : climb the wall behind you at the starting point to get to a hidden path. the map piece is in a room guarded many enemies.
- Area 7 (last area) : in the end of this section, the map piece is on the eaves of the house with white door. use fishing rod.
Mission 9 (Kasugai)
Area 1 : use Kasugai to climb the wall on the left. The map piece is at the end of the path guarded a enemy. I took a while to find the wall coz you can't find it using Mind's Eye. It's right behind the stone statues.
Area 5 : starting point. there are 3 samurais and one cat in the house on the left. go to 2nd floor. the map piece is in a room.
Mission 10 (shinobi cat ; [ghost maker])
- Area 7 (last area) : starting point, use shinobi cat to get through the hole on the left, there are two samurais in the room. get through another hole on the left. you will find the map piece and a ghost maker.
- Area 7 : after got the map piece, go straight and turn left to the end. use ghostmaker to broke the wall on the left. the map piece is on the floor.
